KOLIDO is a scent practice and perfumery based on Wurundjeri Country, in the Yarra Valley, Australia.
From our lab in Coldstream, we design fragrance alongside experiential and spacial installations, exploring how scent can challenge expectation, spark new associations and draw people closer.
We collaborate with artists, architects, designers and those interested in scent as a medium, creating olfactory experiences for people, events and places.
Each scent undergoes a process of design, deconstruction, reconstruction, formulation and maceration before it is bottled, carefully packaged, sealed and shipped, by us.
KOLIDO acknowledges and pays respect to the Traditional Owners and Elders – past and present – of the lands and waters on which we design and develop our fragrances.
Laboratory
Each perfume is imagined, tested, disassembled, reconstructed from over 500 raw materials.
Materials
For us, considered and balanced material selection is paramount. Guided by specificity, attention and nuance, we choose natural ingredients when they serve the fragrance best, and synthetic ones when they’re more responsible or effective. Every one of our perfumes meets IFRA safety standards, reflecting our commitment to both quality and care.
Ageing
Our perfumes are patiently aged in steel vats. Protected from light and temperature-controlled, we allow our scents to stabilise naturally before being transferred to glass.
The bottle
Recycled glass bottles from Spain, each carries subtle variations of its second life as glass.
Packaging
100% recyclable cardboard and a red ribbon woven from paper.
Transport
We move our bottles in reusable cotton bags, avoiding both damage and plastic.
